Count MoriVond

Greetings, salutations and welcome. My name is Count MoriVond.
I was born breach, the seventh son, on my mother's birthday to a noble Spanish clergyman. My father was a Minister of the Eucharist of the Roman Catholic Church and a wealthy landowner… but none of this is really relevant.

I myself, am in no way Catholic, a Christian of any denomination or a believer in "God" whatsoever. Personally, I find the desire to pursue any system of belief that subjugates its followers to an invisible entity, as a form of psychosis. This does not mean that I do not believe in the multitudinous marvels and wonders of the world that is, but that I simply have a different measure to which these are defined. I believe in :

Poetry as the voice of the flesh, given to passion's flame
Art as the voice of the inner self, fleshed out by dictation

I believe pure Art (unconcerned with commercial corporatism and monetary wealth), regardless of medium or aesthetic preference, can serve as a catalyst between tangible experience and the unconsciously inferred. Beyond its viability as a means of self-exploration and validation, true art often channels and interprets the voice of the sub-conscious; the inner sentience which words alone may not or can not readily express. Like captured stills from a dream, these are an extension of that inner self that rests behind the veil of our common day-to-day awareness.

Thus, I feel that the most meaningful art would naturally be devoid of squared objectives and thus, remain somewhat of an enigma to its audience and (again) - regardless of medium or aesthetic preference, ought be left to interpretation. Yet, I have also come to understand that the most impact-full works of art are the ones whose symbolism challenges its audience, often threatening the simple comforts of their conventionalist complacency. Fortunately for me, or so it has been remarked, that that which "crawls from out of the boggy marsh of my perverted psyche", tends to naturally meet that criteria.

Advocatus Diaboli

By all regards, I do consider my work "Satanic" as it stems predominantly, from an innate lust for life and a vigorous pursuance of all the fleshly pleasures, without a single concern for the "divine infallibility" that is the Christian Jehovah or any similarly "divine" archetypes of traditional monotheism.

Mine is a philosophy based on rational self interest, the celebration of the ego through the flesh and an intimate relationship with the primeval darkness from whence all creation springs – this source, both internal; as the undefiled nature of the carnal animal that is man, and external; as the "cosmic force in nature" that perpetuates our experience in the world, here and now – is the muse of all earthly innovation and the source of all artistry (whether the innovators or artists recognize this or not).

Blessed is the man with the means to satisfy his vagaries

I believe in the carnal; in a life of voluptuousness and often, little restraint. I do not make love, I fornicate - as hard and as obscenely as my imagination allows. I write of these obscenities, obsessively. Not as a means for catharsis, but to savor in memory each delectable perversion I have ever entertained. Habitually I pen, the seediest of my reveries, as a reminder to follow through and indulge them. I believe in:

Poetry as the voice of the flesh, given to passion's flame
Art as the voice of the inner self, fleshed out by dictation
